What is an AI Second Brain?
Last updated
A personal or team knowledge base built from notes, documents, and references that AI agents can query directly.
The concept extends Tiago Forte's second brain idea from human retrieval to agent retrieval. A well-built AI second brain is accessible through open standards like MCP, scoped per agent or project rather than exposing a whole workspace, and structured so agents can read intent rather than crawling raw files. Most native PKM integrations (Notion MCP, Obsidian MCP plugins) solve connectivity but leave scope and privacy as open problems.
