The AI Silo Problem: Why Your Tools Don't Talk to Each Other

The industry is moving in this direction. Protocols like MCP (Model Context Protocol) and Google’s A2A are establishing standards for how AI tools can access external context. 90% of enterprise leaders say having a central AI orchestration platform is critical or important.

Watch for interoperability standards. MCP, A2A, and similar protocols are making it easier for tools to access external context. Tools that support these standards can share context more easily than tools that don’t.

The silo problem isn’t inevitable. It’s a consequence of treating each AI tool as a standalone system rather than part of a connected ecosystem. External context stores flip this model: context becomes the constant, and tools become interchangeable interfaces to that context.
